Mawokota FC team unveiled, beats 4:2 Ngabi Clan FC in a promising pre-season match ahead of Masaza Cup 2023

In a pre-season match minutes just after being unveiled on Thursday, Mawokota Ssaza FC has registered a 4:2 victory against Ngabi FC ‘bika tournament’ team at the Ssaza playground, Butoolo amidst ululations and cheers from the fans.

Mawokota team management has for a one week time been running adverts for the official team launch calling for the people of Mawokota to turn up in large numbers to cast support towards their team in terms of finances, prayers and physical support.

On the launch which was graced by among others, Mawokota Ssaza chief, Kayima Oweek Gabriel Kabonge and his deputies, Masaza Cup chairman Mr. Sulaiman Ssejjengo, Mpigi Woman MP Teddy Nambooze, LC5 Chairman Martine Ssejjemba, Sub county chiefs, Mawokota businessmen and other dignitaries, the team management announced Richard Malinga retained as their head coach.

This is a fourth consecutive year of Former Uganda Cranes Right Back, Richard Malinga handing the mantle to deliver results at Mawokota Ssaza Football Team as Head coach. Malinga will be assisted by Eric Kisuze, with Mutumba Adad as the goalkeeping coach.

“I have been here now this is the fourth year, but we have never been prepared like we’re now! I thank our team manager Counsel Denis Bugaya for this prestigious arrangements,” says Mr Malinga.

“We must deliver, I humbly request my players to oppotimise this chance! What we can do is to win the title! Nothing less!,” He added.

The 2005, 2007 and 2013 Masaza Cup Champions who are seeking for their fourth Masaza Cup crown, will open their campaign against defending champions Busiro on Saturday, 24th at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Counsel Dennis Bugaya the Mawokota Team Manager told Whisper Eye News that, all what’s needed has been put in place to have Mawokota crowned as the 2023 Masaza champions

“We had thorough screening to have the best team management, coaching staff, and players. We believe, we have the best in place. If we get the best desired support from a people in Mawokota, there’sno doubt, we will be crowned champions”

“We’re all united as one behind our county; Mawokota, to enjoy the beautiful game of football,” he added.

It must remembered that Mawokota who under the stewardship of Richard Malinga have been unlucky, as they have been eliminated at the quarter and semi-final stages, they were dipped in ‘Muganzirwazza group’ alongside defending champions Busiro, 4 times champions Gomba, Ssese, Mawogola and Kabula.

Some of the fans who spectated Mawokota-Ngabi FC testing match told Whisper Eye News that they have registered hope from the team players and belive, they will register good results in the tournament.
