What Norbert Mao means to the MK movement

Pictures were all over social media when Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba landed in Kigali for his 49th birthday celebration an invitation from President Paul Kagame. #WhisperEyeNews

What surprised many was Hon Nobert Mao the Democratic Party President together with his girlfriend Beatrice Kayanja being among the delegation that accompanied Gen Muhoozi to Kigali. The delegation also had Andrew Mwenda, and Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi among others.

However, too many, Mao was the most eye-catching as it signaled something about the MK movement’s determination to create strong alliances for its future political success.

According to Mr Frank Gashumba the Vice Chairperson MK movement Buganda region, Mao is a symbol or representation of the Northern part of Uganda ever since the demise of Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah the former speaker of Parliament and thus his joining the MK movement is a big addition to its future political success.

Gashumba added that after the death of Oulanyah, the government needed a strong man from the North who could be the face of the region in the government hence Nobert Mao’s appointment as Minister for Justice and Constitution Affairs.

Mao joining Gen Muhoozi’s MK movement means the Nothern part of Uganda has also said YES to MK’s Presidential ambitions in a course to see that he succeeds his father as President of Uganda.

People close to the DP President who spoke to Whisper Eye on grounds of anonymity said that Mao is more than willing to work with Gen Muhoozi for the future stability of this country because those who oppose the government have ill intentions for this country.

We tried to contact Hon Mao for a comment but he wasn’t picking up his calls. We reached out to his Personal Assistant who said that we should wait for his boss’s press conference that will come soon some time to come.
