“It’s a miscalculation to think you can take power by force in Uganda,” Museveni warns opposition

Gen Museveni used force to take power in 1986 from Gen Tito Okello Lutwa nearly 40 years ago. However, the commander of the National Resistance Army says that while he is still in charge, no one can dare use the same means to grab power from him. #Uganda #UgandaNews #WhisperEyeNews

According to Gen Museveni, Uganda has evolved both economically and militarily and thus it is impossible for anyone or any group to ever succeed in seizing power using force from the NRM.

Museveni adds that in the past so many groups have tried to use military means to take power but they were all defeated because they miscalculated and underestimated the might of the National Resistance Army.

Gen Museveni has also further warned the opposition that has plans of using protests to rise up the population against the government.

” Use of protests is rubbish. They can never succeed here. It’s a miscalculation because we have the capacity to defeat such nonsense. ” He said

By the end of this five year term, Gen Museveni would have been in power for 40 years. The opposition is worried that Museveni is planning to have his son succeed him as president of Uganda something that will make the country operate like a monarchy.
